I have over 13 years of experience assessing, treating, and advocating for people with emotional difficulties and believes strongly that each individual can make positive strides toward mental wellness with the proper approach. I believe that the majority of treatment success is the result from a strong therapeutic relationship and, with that in mind, I create a gentle, compassionate, trusting, and safe environment in which people feel comfortable to explore and resolve both short-term challenges and long-term life difficulties.

I have extensive experience treating adolescents, adults, elderly, couples and families, especially in the areas of adjustment difficulties, anxiety, anger management, career/workplace counseling, caretaker stress, chronic pain, depression, family/peer conflicts, geriatric challenges, grief and loss, marital difficulties, men’s issues, parenting, personality disorders, self-esteem/confidence, self-harming/self-injury, sexual abuse, sleep difficulties, spirituality, suicidal ideation, and teen adjustment.

I’ve been employed in a variety of settings, including private practices, community agencies, and hospitals. These experiences have provided me with a unique understanding of clinical needs and how important it is for people to find personal meaning in their journey towards overall well-being. I’m well versed in a variety of treatment techniques for individuals, couples, and families including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Values-based interventions.

I am particularly passionate about working with boys and men. While every person handles issues differently, all too often men are taught from an early age to ignore or downplay their emotions. I have extensive experience working with men to break through those barriers in order to help them learn how to work with their issues without the feelings of shame or judgment that can often be present.
